In a move that left the online gaming world reeling, the Curaçao gambling authority revamped its licensing protocols, throwing numerous betting companies into chaos.
Among those feeling the heat was Lotto Billions, which hastily shifted its regulatory oversight to the Anjouan Offshore Financial Authority. However, this transition has been anything but smooth, with significant compliance issues emerging.
Previously, Lotto Billions operated under the Curaçao framework, where it was strictly prohibited from accepting customers from countries like the UK and the US. Now, under Anjouan’s regulations, the stakes are even higher: companies must not only refrain from accepting customers in these regions but also implement stringent geo-blocking measures to prevent access altogether.

Unfortunately for Lotto Billions, it seems the team is floundering yet again. Their past failures to comply with Curaçao regulations – such as allowing UK residents to create accounts – have reared their ugly heads once more.
Although they eventually removed the option for UK sign-ups after being caught, it appears the company is now in breach of Anjouan regulations, by failing to geo-block access to its site for banned countries, including the UK.
This oversight raises serious questions about the effectiveness of their in-house Legal Counsel, Khalid Virani. Based on his performance at Lotto Billions and his own company, Segrada Price Ltd, critics have likened his attitude to compliance to the handling of a hot potato, “Drop it quick and hope nobody notices”. As the company stumbles through regulatory challenges once more, one must wonder if this is a failure of judgment or a deeper systemic issue.
Adding to their woes, Lotto Billions has neglected to update its website footer to reflect its new licensing authority, further damaging its credibility and showcasing a troubling lack of attention to detail.

As regulators tighten their grip on the gambling industry, Lotto Billions must act swiftly to address these compliance failings.
Should they continue down this reckless path, they risk severe penalties or even losing their Anjouan license, which could spell disaster for the company. The clock is ticking; will they learn from past missteps or remain entangled in a web of regulatory negligence?
