You’ve Heard of Willy Wonka, Meet Cadbury’s Silly Plonker, Nooreddin Valimahomed!

Parody picture of Nooreddin Valimahomed as Willy Wonka in reference to his position at Lotto Billions and Cadbury Russia

We’ve all devoured the sweet fantasy of Willy Wonka’s Golden Tickets, but when it comes to the real-life chocolate business, Cadbury’s golden opportunity in Russia turned into a bitter nightmare. Enter the notorious “businessman” Nooreddin Valimahomed – he’s no Willy Wonka, that’s for sure.

Cadbury, a globally beloved chocolate brand, handed over the exclusive contract to sell their delectable treats in Russia to Valimohamed. It sounded like a golden ticket for the lucky franchisee, but little did they know they were dealing with a Silly Plonker.

Valimahomed had the chance to rake in legitimate profits by selling everyone’s favourite chocolates, but instead, he ran Cadbury Russia Limited straight into the ground. In just four years at the helm, he accumulated bank debts in the tens of millions, leading to his bankruptcy and a slew of investigations by banks who felt he had duped them.

As questions swirl about this lottery company’s dodgy ethics, prospects for raising finance for another doomed venture seem dim. When the Silly Plonker offers you a “golden” lottery ticket, beware – you might just end up looking like a “Right Charlie!”
